My name is Kelly Inouye-Perez and I am the head coach of the UCLA Softball team. I am proud to say I have been a part of the most successful program in the history of softball for the last 22 years. We have won 11 National Championships, countless Pac 10 Championships, and have produced more All-Americans, Honda Award winners, and Olympians than any other college softball program. Given the demands of UCLA's academics we are equally as proud of our 98% graduation rate over the last decade. That number stands high above the banners we have won, and reflects, in no small part, our continuing dedication to ensuring the future success of all those who are a part of our program. For all of us here, UCLA is more than sports; it’s an idea that burns bright and strong-- our world class academics, the personal growth and development of terrific young women and our athletic excellence. I am indeed fortunate to be surrounded by great athletes and our UCLA family of parents, hard working staff, excellent coaches and our overall leaders of UCLA athletics.

We invite you to join this dynamic team! Be the "10th" Bruin and help us to remain a dominant force in college softball. We were the “First to 10” NCAA National Championships and we are working hard to be the “First to 20.” To achieve our goals, your help is needed now more than ever as budget shortfalls challenge us at every turn to provide the very best facilities and equipment for our players and fans.

Here is how you can help. Our 5th annual golf tournament is right around the corner. Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Examples of support include in-kind donations (refreshment and lunch sponsorships) Tournament title sponsorships, hole sponsorship, or merchandise for our silent and live auctions.

This year our golf tournament will be held at Sea Cliff Country Club in Huntington Beach, on September 20th. We will be teeing off at 12 noon with registration starting at 10:30 am and our putting contest and luncheon proceeding the golf day. If you can’t golf, then come to our dinner banquet and meet our talented team members and celebrated alumnae. I promise you the evening will go quickly and be fun-filled with Blue and Gold memories.

On Monday, September 20th, 2010, the UCLA Bruins Softball team is hosting its annual Golf Tournament. This tournament has become a hugely popular event for UCLA family and friends to enjoy a fantastic day of golf while reestablishing ties with former classmates and to network in order to build long term personal and business relationships.

As we all face the challenges of a struggling economy, the State of California cut funding to its schools this year and the UCLA Championship Softball program was no exception. Regrettably, these cutbacks eliminated a substantial amount of funds from the softball program’s operating budget.

This is where we need your help and we are hoping to help you as well. Our goal is to team up with you to overcome these challenges head-on. Our plan is to leverage our vast social network for everyone’s benefit, including the UCLA Alumni, the Southern California Softball Community, the Southern California Community of Women Leaders in Minority Owned Businesses and others.
